“Every year, our family tries to come up with a fun way to wish Barack a happy birthday,” writes Michelle Obama. “And this August 4th, when he turns 49, I have something new in mind.”
That “something new” is leaving the country without him. He’ll be speaking (naturally) at a Party fundraising event on his birthday and indulging on the next day in one of the many perquisites of his office, a tour of an automotive production facility, where he will be able to observe first-hand the success of the one member of the Big Three that declined to accept TARP funds.
The First Lady will content herself with a visit with the King and Queen of Spain. The rest of us will be given the opportunity to celebrate the joyous occasion of the anniversary of our dear leader’s birth by sending money to his permanent campaign. Or, perhaps, to Iowahawk’s mother.
